A private GBRf charter operated from Cardiff to Paignton and return on Saturday 21 July 2012. The five coach formation was powered by Class 50 No. 50044 Exeter, with multi-coloured GBRf Class 66/7 No. 66720 on the rear. After arrival at Paignton the train formed a Paignton to Plymouth and return mini-tour available to enthusiasts and haulage bashers. The eastbound working, 1Z53, the 18.15 Paignton to Cardiff Central is seen crossing Cockwood Harbour between Dawlish Warren and Starcross.
